9-06-2026 practice notes

Practice notes for September 6:
・Slightly internally rotate both hands to jam the opponent's shoulder; extending them forward from this position causes the opponent's posture to collapse.
・Making contact with both hands and rotating them—tracing the arc of the arm—causes the opponent to lose their balance.
・Stillness and motion (this is difficult to explain):
Pause for a moment while in contact with the opponent. Memorize the position of your arms and the state of your body during that pause. Then, when you move, maintain that state of stillness in your body and move only the point of contact; the opponent will move easily.
・We switched gears and practiced Hubud.

( many Japanese martial arts practitioners (especially in Aikido, Jujutsu, or modern Jeet Kune Do groups in Japan) study this drill to build tactile reflexes and hand-eye coordination. Japanese martial artists sometimes compare its function to Te No Tori (手の取り - hand taking/controlling) or Chi Sao (sticky hands) )
